Class Council
The Class Councils (CCs), sometimes referred to as the Undergraduate Class Councils to distinguish them from the Graduate Council, are four subsidiary bodies of the Undergraduate Council, each representing one of the four undergraduate class years[a]. Class Councils are the oldest form of student government at RPI, with the earliest reference to class officers dating back to 1865. Class Councils have historically existed primarily for programming purposes, including hosting events during Senior Week and hosting annual class hockey nights, but have on occasion participated in legislative or advocacy affairs. The elected membership of the Class Councils are elected during GM Week (for the incoming sophomore, junior, and senior classes) or during freshman elections (for the freshman class).

History
Modern Structure and Operations
Today, Class Councils consist of:
- A President, nonvoting, but a voting member of the Undergraduate Council
- A Vice President, both voting and a member of the Undergraduate Council
- 4 Senators, voting and also members of the Student Senate
- 8 Class Representatives, voting
- An unlimited number of members-at-large, voting, who are functionally identical to Class Representatives
- A Secretary, Treasurer, and Publicity Director
The President, Vice President, Senators, and Representatives are elected positions, while the others are appointed. There is some circumstantial evidence that each of the four undergraduate representatives on the Executive Board were at one time considered members of their Class Council, but this remains an area for future research.
